Appwrite is an open-source backend (authentication, databases, file storage, functions, messaging, hosting and realtime) offered as Appwrite Cloud or self-hosted.
Who it suits
Web and mobile developers who want one backend with SDKs and the option to run it on their own servers.
Price
Free organizations cost nothing; a project that reaches a Free limit is frozen and the console turns read-only. Pro is $25 a month plus $15 per additional project, as announced by Appwrite on 8 August 2025. Dedicated databases start at $10 a month.
