Polar is a merchant of record for developers: it resells your software, subscriptions and digital products in more than 100 markets and takes on sales tax, fraud, refunds and chargebacks.
Who it suits
Developers and small teams selling software online who want tax handled for them, on a billing platform whose code is open.
Price
Starter: free, 5% + 50¢ per transaction. Pro: $20 a month, 3.8% + 40¢. Growth: $100 a month, 3.6% + 35¢. Scale: $400 a month, 3.4% + 30¢. Cards issued outside the US add 1.5%.
