Stripe alternatives for payments and billing
With Stripe, your business is the seller and handles its own tax registrations. Paddle, Lemon Squeezy and Polar act as merchant of record and take that on for a higher fee per sale. Lago and Hyperswitch are open-source layers you run yourself, for billing logic and for routing payments between processors. GoCardless collects by bank debit instead of card.
